Frequently Asked Questions
Find answers about AAC technology, MindSpeaker products, and how our innovative solutions can help you communicate better.

What is AAC and who is it for?
AAC, or Augmentative and Alternative Communication, refers to a variety of methods, tools, and strategies used to support or replace speech for individuals with communication challenges.
AAC can be an essential resource for people with conditions such as neurodegenerative diseases, developmental disabilities, or injuries that impact their ability to speak.
Who can benefit from AAC?
AAC is designed for anyone who has difficulty with speech or language, whether temporarily or permanently.
It provides a way to communicate more effectively, maintain social connections, and express thoughts and emotions.
Why does AAC matter?
For individuals who struggle with speech, AAC offers an empowering solution to communicate with others, maintain relationships, and participate in daily activities.
It can be customized to meet the unique needs of each person, ensuring they have a voice, regardless of their physical or cognitive challenges.
How does MindSpeaker differ from other AAC tools?
At MindSpeaker, we are dedicated to advancing AAC technology by integrating innovative solutions like our voice cloning software and wearable brain-computer interfaces.
Our tools are designed to enhance natural communication and adapt to each user’s needs, providing a faster and personalized communication experience.
What’s the difference between MindClick and EyeNav?
EyeNav uses eye-tracking for cursor movement and selection. MindClick leverages EEG signals to register a mental “click” without any physical movement.
Is EyeNav necessary or can I just use MindClick? What happens if I can’t speak or move at all?
EyeNav is not necessary to use MindClick, there is a scanning option to select and do mental click.
MindClick enables full device control even without eye movement, just using EEG-based mental clicks – no physical movement or speech required.
How can I preserve my voice?
Use MindBank to record and store your natural voice if you can speak. This can later be recreated so you can say anything you want using our MindVoice .- MindSpeaker software.
Is a diagnosis required to begin?
No. You can start voice preservation and most software features independently. Clinical support is available for device-based solutions.
How long will it take me to get used to the AAC device?
Most users adjust within a few days, depending on comfort and support. Personalized onboarding helps speed up the process.
Who is going to help me set up my device?
Our team offers remote setup support, training sessions, and video tutorials to our clinical partners and distributors, which can also assist in person and follow-up more closely.
Can I “try before I buy”?
Yes. We offer a free trial with full access to the software so you can test compatibility and ease of use before making a decision.
